Dear Coach Gilmartin, Coach Long, and the entire Long Island Stampede family
Our son Damie has been with the Long Island Stampede for the past 4 years and on November 10, 2010 his dream to play Division I lacrosse came true when he signed is National letter of Intent with the University of Detroit Mercy. I firmly believe that the Long Island Stampede and Coach Gilmartin was an intricate part in helping him achieve this great honor. Your staff and wonderful attitude towards all the players on the team was unbelievable. You treat each and every boy with the utmost respect while teaching them how to play Lacrosse the “Right Way". Winning the Tri-State Tournament in New Jersey capped off a very successful 2010 year. I still remember how excited the boys and the parents were. It was a great day in Stampede History, and I know there will be plenty more to come as well. We would also like to thank you with the recruiting process. Your knowledge and understanding helped us tremendously when it came to finding the right college for Damie. Once again thank you for allowing Damie to be part of the Long Island Stampede Family. GOD Bless you Coach Gilmartin and the entire Stampede Family.
Sincerely,
Michael and Leticia Danseglio
Dear Coach Gilmartin, Coach Long, and the entire Long Island Stampede family,
Frankie has been with the Long Island Stampede since the beginning when we started with only one team of dedicated boys and parents. Since then I have watched the Stampede grow because of the commitment of the founders, coaches and parents. It has been a joy to watch Frankie and his team, learn the sport of lacrosse and learn how to play it with respect and sportsmanship. I have watched them win and lose with dignity. Let’s face it teenage boys are not always the most “courteous” people but the Stampede has taught them as much off the field as it has on the field and for that I thank you.
As you know Frankie is a verbally committed, scholarship athlete to Wagner University, a Division 1 Lacrosse Team and an amazing school. I would like to thank you for all you have done for him and for all your help in this recruiting process. We still receive emails and letters from schools who saw him play as a “Stampeder”. The amount of effort and time Coach Gilmartin spent getting these boys names and skills out to all the different colleges was above and beyond and much appreciated.
As we go into our last year with the Stampede, I know my son received the best coaching on and off the field, and I know that we have made friends that will last forever.
Sincerely,
Colleen and Frank DeLuca
Dear Coach Gilmartin, Coach Long, and the entire Long Island Stampede family,
The Long Island Stampede provided our son, Kevin, the opportunity to develop under the guidance of Coach Gilmartin who instilled in Kevin leadership skills and the importance of team play. Throughout Kevin's years on the Stampede, he attended numerous tournaments that were highly competitive and afforded him the opportunity to be seen by college recruiters. As a result of playing with the Stampede and the assistance of Coach Gilmartin in the college recruiting process, Kevin will continue to play lacrosse at the University of Massachusetts. In addition, we cannot say enough good things about John Long who has worked tirelessly in establishing the integrity and success of the Stampede through the years. We know that each player and parent will enjoy the same rewarding experience that we had. We could not be happier or more thankful to Coach Gilmartin and John Long for their commitment to making the Stampede the quality organization it is today.
